Come to Colonial Beach and hear some Rocking Blue’s music for a great cause. All proceeds to benefit OAR an Organization for Autism(www.researchautism.org). Splish, splash, we’re havin’ a bash! Kick off the start of summer with live beach music in the courtyard. Bring your friends! Includes tour, tasting, souvenir wine glass, live music and dinner (optional). Limited seating; reservations recommended for music and required for dinner. Admission: TBA.
Stratford’s summer camp puts the “grand” in “grandparenting.” Three days of full-filled, educational activities offer a memorable family bonding experience while participants are re-living 18th-century life on a Virginia plantation. The myriad of hands-on experiences include looking for shark teeth fossils, fishing, and marching as the colonial Virginia militia. Children and adults alike enjoy playing music on a recorder, trying out a harpsichord and experiencing projects in the visual arts. Campers may try their hands at bricklaying, surveying, archeology, working the tobacco field and baking a pie in the open hearth kitchen and so much more. New this year: activities at George Washington Birthplace National Monument.
This camp will be offered three times this summer: June 25-27, July 9-11 and August 6-8, 2013. The suggested child age is 1st grade completed through age 12. The cost is $340 per person and includes comfortable lodging and all meals.Special Offer: The cost for repeat campers and/or family members numbering more than two is $320.
Enrollment is limited to only 20 children plus their grandparents, so early registration is strongly recommended.
