A Romantic Get-Away to Colonial Beach
Just the two of you #CrushFriday
Colonial Beach Boardwalk
Virginia Tourism LOVE sculpture
Friday is almost here and you want a long weekend away with your love. A Romantic Weekend in Colonial Beach is just what you have been dreaming of.
You chose to stay at one of our B&B’s. You can hear the crickets chirp and the water lap the shore from many of them. After you have comfortably checked into your accommodation on Friday, you relax with a cold beverage while watching the osprey fly and the boats sail past on the Potomac. A leisurely bicycle ride around “The Point” with picturesque views of the Potomac, Monroe Bay, The Bell House, and 7 marinas works up your appetite. Colonial Beach has several amazing dining options. International food choices including Thai, French, Chinese, Italian, and American. Seafood is fresh and plentiful. After dinner, you indulge in a night cap while listening to live piano or acoustic music. Walk hand-in-hand along the 2nd longest sandy beach in Virginia before turning in for the night.
A perfect getaway destination
Colonial Beach Waterfront
Saturday morning finds you refreshed and rejuvenated. Sneak out of your B&B to the local florist shop for a surprise bouquet for your partner. Detour on the way back, for two cups of French press coffee and fresh pastry. Make reservations at the local Spa and Salon for a couple’s massage and have a leisurely lunch in one of our open-air restaurants. In the afternoon, call our local Taxi company to provide transportation to/from one or more of our local Wineries. You can find your favorites by sampling their wines in the Tasting Rooms. Once found, bring a bottle home as reminder of your perfect weekend. The evening brings you back to the B&B and you have a special surprise planned. You contacted a local chef earlier and arranged a sumptuous dinner for two which is waiting for you in the privacy of your room. A walk among the boats at one of our marinas at sunset tops off an amazing day.
St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church
Sunday morning may find you at one of our local churches before heading to Sunday brunch. After brunch, a day of relaxation at the beach is in store. If you haven’t brought your two-person float, head to one of our beach shops to get one. Spend the day drifting in the warm water and dreaming of your next trip to Colonial Beach. But before you head home…one more surprise has been planned. On a quiet stretch of the beach, in the late afternoon, our local civil marriage commissioner is waiting to renew your commitment. Fait accompli!
