National Trails Day and Clean the Bay Day – Caledon State Park
Help keep Caledon State Park and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed clean and beautiful by volunteering with us to collect trash and dispose of it properly. We will be having two events during the day.
9-11 a.m.: Cleaning Up the Bay – Every year storms, tides, and guests deposit tons of garbage along the shore of Caledon. Help us remove this eye sore and prevent the trash from ever reaching the bay. We will also be helping to rid the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail of unsightly waste.
12-2 p.m.: Rounding up the 5 Rs of Sustainability – Stay after helping “Clean the Bay” and join us to learn about how we can intentionally manage our waste and help create a better environment for all living creatures, especially here in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We’ll talk about the difficulties surrounding sustainability, discover helpful tips, and work on a craft together demonstrating one of the five Rs.
Please call the park (540-663-3861) for more information and to register for this volunteer event.
