Potomac River Festival

The Annual Potomac River Festival kicks off a loud and proud Firemen’s Parade around the point. The festival features a Grand Parade, Pet Parade, Boat Parade, Beauty Pageant, music, food and craft vendors, and fireworks. It is one of our largest events of the year and a fantastically fun filled weekend for the entire family! You won’t want to miss this perfect opportunity to experience The Playground on the Potomac.

Location

The annual Potomac River Festival takes place in downtown Colonial Beach and the boardwalk.  Located on the shores of the Potomac, Colonial Beach is less than two hours from Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Richmond.

Participation

The festival is open to the public and we encourage all to participate in our numerous parades and activities.  Event registrations are listed below.

Grand Parade Registration

Register you entry to the Grand Parade.  Entries can include decorated floats, boats, cars, trucks, motorcycles, golf carts, bicycles, dance performers, marching units, or other parade worthy entries.

Boat Parade Registration

Kindly register your boat and find all details here. No fees are applicable. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the parade from Irving Ave, the Boardwalk, or the town pier. Join in the festivities and have a great time!
