The Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce appoints Michael J. Fitzpatrick to the Board of Directors and Chairman of the newly formed Economic Development Committee

The Board of Directors of the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce unanimously voted today to appoint Michael Fitzpatrick to fill the open Board seat. Carey Geddes, Chamber President, also commissioned Mr. Fitzpatrick to form and chair an Economic Development Committee effective immediately. Mr. Fitzpatrick brings over 40 years of international business experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries as well as 20 years in Colonial Beach as a successful small business owner. Mr. Geddes stated, “We welcome Mike to the team and are excited to have him lead the economic development activities for the Chamber. This is a much needed role that comes at a critical time for Colonial Beach”. Mr. Fitzpatrick stated, “I look forward to building a strong and effective team of business leaders from my network to assist with the recruitment and development activities underway in Town.” Mr. Fitzpatrick has already begun the buildout of his team with people from his extensive business network both inside and outside of Colonial Beach. The initial team plans to have a kick-off meeting before the end of the year. Mr. Fitzpatrick further stated, “As I promised during the Mayoral campaign, I want to use my business and leadership skills to help take Colonial Beach to the next level. I plan to operate in a totally open and transparent manner and I look forward to working with the Council, The Community Foundation, Tourism and the Chamber to insure the success of our development activities”.
