Boy, did we have a rainy week… but we were rewarded for our patience with gorgeous days on Sunday and Monday! Even with the rain…your Chamber of Commerce stayed busy. Sally, the Chamber’s Event Coordinator, worked with volunteers Rhonda Pitts and Caroline Piram on all issues Potomac River Festival. Everyone is getting excited about this wonderful Colonial Beach tradition…in its 67th year!
The Chamber’s Social Networking Committee, chaired by Karen Grisevich, hosted a Networking Event for Chamber members at the Lighthouse Restaurant on Thursday evening. Despite the deluge, approximately 35 brave souls, donned with umbrellas and rain boots (and one very soggy lawyer who had neither), joined us for delicious appetizers and libations for a great opportunity to network with fellow Chamber members. It was wonderful to see the business connections and partnerships being made. We’d also like to thank Colonial Beach Mayor, Eddie Blunt, and the Town Manager, Quinn Robertson, for joining us.
Susan delivered 20 cases of Colonial Beach Visitors Guides to the Fredericksburg Welcome Center on Route 95. The Welcome Center will distribute the Guides to 9 other locations in Virginia allowing us to have representation in 10 of the 12 official Welcome Centers in Virginia. We are excited about the opportunity to share our town with others, and having the Guides in these locations will enable us to reach well over a million people!
And the countdown has begun! COLONIAL BEACH is still #1 in the USA Today Reader’s Choice 10 Best beaches in Virginia contest. But, the competition is heating up and other towns are beginning to jockey for position. Imagine the bragging rights we’d have if we were the #1 rated beach in Virginia in this NATIONAL Readers Choice contest! Please, VOTE for COLONIAL BEACH every day through May 28th at http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-virginia-beach/.
Enjoy the sunshine and thanks for all your support!
