We have been festive and educational and are getting ready to dance and celebrate!
The Chamber just finished 3 weekends in a row of festivals! The 39th Annual Rod Run to the Beach was held on August 18-19, The 4th Annual Water Fest was held on August 25-16 and the 52nd Annual Arts and Crafts Show was held on Labor Day weekend! Whew! Its hard to imagine that we had antique and muscle cars; pirates, mermaids, and wet kiddo’s, and Christmas shopping at its finest in the last 3 weeks! Such fun for our little town!
The Chamber recently implemented its new Education Curriculum. Addison, high school Chamber intern, has been working with members on basic computer and photo editing skills. She is back in school now but will be available in the afternoons a few days a week. Eric Nelson had 11 students in the Business 101-Business Readiness class held on August 28th and Business 102- Writing a Business Plan, will take place on September 25. This class is open to the public. Please email the Chamber at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
The Colonial Beach Chamber and the Colonial Beach Foundation are working together to get you up and dancing to Beach Music. On September 22, the Rhondels and the Embers will grace our stage. Come out and shag dance from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20 at Raggs, Denson’s, The Beach Shop, Coldwell Banker Elite, and The Chamber through 9-15-18.
And last but definitely not least, the Chamber will be honoring all it’s volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation event on September 16. We will have a DJ/music/karaoke, a sumptuous meal, libations and lots and lots of appreciation! The heartbeat of Colonial Beach is found in its volunteers. These folks give of themselves to a degree that is hard to imagine. None of it is possible without them!
That’s about it for now! Hope you have a wonderful week at the #1 Best Beach in Virginia…Colonial Beach!
