The days are shorter and the air is crisper!  Autumn is in full bloom and the holiday season is almost here. The Chamber’s Fall Festival and Halloween Golf Cart Parade, the Urban Trail Ride, and the Fall Rockfish Tournament are behind us.  Thanks to everyone who helped make these events successful for Colonial Beach…especially our exceptional volunteers!  Speaking of volunteers…we recently had our first ever Volunteer Appreciation Event that was designed to celebrate EVERY Chamber volunteer.  The Chamber co-sponsored the Candidates Forum for the 2018 elections and also invited members to its last Social Networking event of 2018.  Attendees had a wonderful time at the Colonial Beach Plaza B&B.  Libations flowed and Misunn’s Koren appetizers were spectacular!  What a great opportunity for Chamber members to network with one another on projects and initiatives. Don’t forget that Saturday, November 24th is SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY!  Please remember to SHOP BIG by SHOPPING SMALL!  Our local businesses rely on patronage all year long in order to remain viable.  Consider your holiday gift list and match it with local businesses.  A holiday party hostess gift could include beachy items from one of our local retail establishments and a stocking stuffer might include a gift certificate for a local restaurant, a local laborer (think leaf pickup, painters, electricians, etc), or a local accomodation for a night away with your someone special!  We have so much to offer…SHOP SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY IN COLONIAL BEACH! All of us at the Chamber wish each of you the peace and love of family and friends this holiday season.  Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all our blessings, especially those close to our heart.  After your tryptophan coma on Thanksgiving, consider volunteering at the Santa’s Wonderland and Winter Festival on December 1st.  There really is nothing as precious as a child’s face as they watch the Winter Festival Parade then enter Town Hill showcasing hundreds of Christmas decorations, fun holiday activities, a warm bonfire, and highlight of the day…sitting on Santa’s lap!  These events remind us of the goodness in people and our great luck to live in this very special community! So, sleep tight, stay warm, volunteer, shop local, and keep your heart open to the love, laughter, and majesty of the season! That’s about it for now!  Hope you are enjoying the #1 Best Beach in Virginia…Colonial Beach! #CBStrong, #CBCOC, #VisitCBVA, #ColonialBeach, #DrifterPride
